ABSTRACT PROJECT
Year 1,July 2016

My first project of Year 1 was to apply what we have learned (principles of architecture) into an abstract 3D form which is made by Styrofoam. We then progressed, by taking this form and converting it into a space that could be of use.

The project required:
- Perspective drawing
- Axonometric View
- Roof Plan
- Floor Plan
- Sections

All to be hand drawn on an A1 board.

Principles of Architecture Used
Symmetry, Hierarchy, Proportion & Rhythm

Main Idea
An Eco-friendly playscape for the children to interact with. A roof garden with empty pots for children to grow their plant and decorate their roof garden.

Purpose
The ground floor is meant for relaxation with toys, books and cushions provided. The second floor is meant for fun activity which involves equipment found in everyday playgrounds (e.g. slides, see-saw). It is completed with a roof garden which the children can decorate by growing specific types of floral and fauna, giving them a sense of identity of the space.

Sustainable Feautres
A green roof to lower overall temperature of the spaces below. Water fountains and greenery in the vicinity to cool the area and reduce overall temperature.
